Love and Logic gives parents practical ideas about setting limits and teaching kids to make responsible choices.  Parents learn to keep their sense of humor and raise children who are self-confident and motivated.  Subjects include: choices, ownership of the problem, setting limits, consequences, empathic responses, empowering your children, learning from mistakes, and problem solving.

A six module program designed by the Love and Logic Institute; Classes are ongoing.

The Nurturing Parent is great for young families who have little parenting skills. Price includes online testing. Eight to twelve modules, depending on age of children.

Fee: Love and Logic
$12.50 per person per class, plus one-time $12.50 book fee

The Home Visiting Program is for parents of children age newborn to five years old; home visitors work with the parent in the home to develop parenting skills and techniques. Parents learn how to enhance their child’s brain development and strengthen the parent-child bond; parents develop effective and age appropriate discipline. Available in Spanish.

Parents Anonymous is a family group that meets to share and support one another. Families meet together with their children and other families, enjoy free dinner, and then the children go to their own group (children’s groups include fun, therapeutic activities) while parents meet with trained facilitators and other parents to offer support, feedback on parenting, challenges, resources, etc. Meals and groups are free.

TFP offers a parenting class that is developed and presented to empower parents by providing new tools to build effectiveness in the task of parenting.

12 Week Course  
Two hour classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings  
Dinner is provided

Fees: Free + $15 workbook

Eligibility:  Parents of children of all ages.

Dynamic, interactive class specifically designed to deliver co-parent education. Topics include the capacity for awareness and operating with the other parent, intention, listening, and responding – all relating to co-parent interaction. Parents are given tools and skills to apply and use in their lives. Parents attend classes separately.

4 hours per class, 1-2 classes per parent

*Consider sending parents who are at an impasse back to mediation following this class.
